Professor Chin Talks to Salon About Trump's 'Weak' Notice of Claim Against DOJ
Former President Donald Trump’s notice of $100 million claim against the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the 2022 raid on his Florida home in his classified-documents case is “terribly weak,” Professor Gabriel “Jack” Chin told Salon.com
"This notice of claim has the hallmarks of a protective filing made because the statute of limitations is about to run," he said.
Trump pleaded not guilty in 2023 to charges stemming from the discovery of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago after he left office. Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, dismissed the case in July.
