Professors Afsharipour, Lee, Patel Take Part in Law & Entrepreneurship Association Conference
Professors Afra Asharipour and Peter Lee served as discussants, and Professor Menesh Patel as a discussant and panelist, at the Law & Entrepreneurship Association’s annual conference on Sept. 6 at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco.
Afsharipour and Lee participated in paper sessions and Patel in the panel and idea session “What’s So Killer About Acquisitions?”
Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law Afra Afsharipour’s areas of research include corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, transactional law, and the legal profession. From 2018-2024, she served as Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Her scholarship has appeared in the Columbia Law Review, University of Chicago Law Review, Minnesota Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, and UC Davis Law Review, among other leading publications.
Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law Peter Lee teaches and writes in the field of intellectual property law, particularly focusing on patent law, innovation, and technology transfer. He founded and directs UC Davis Law’s Center for Innovation, Law, and Society.
Professor Menesh Patel joined the UC Davis faculty in 2018. His primary research interests include antitrust, corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets. Prior to UC Davis, he was a fellow at Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School and practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP.
