Professor Shestowsky Presents at Prestigious Psychology Symposium
Professor Donna Shestowsky presented the talk “What Motivates People to Use ADR” at the Nebraska Symposium on Motivation, held April 18-19 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The Nebraska Symposium on Motivation is an annual academic conference that brings together experts from various fields to discuss and explore topics related to human motivation. The symposium has a rich history dating back to its inception in 1949 and has featured the most cited and influential research psychologists.
Each year, the symposium focuses on a specific theme or topic, inviting renowned researchers, scholars, and practitioners to present their findings and engage in thought-provoking discussions and culminates in invitees contributing chapters to a book. This year’s topic was “Legal Judgment and the Motivation for Justice.”
Donna Shestowsky, who has both a law degree and a Ph.D. in psychology, is Director of the Lawyering Skills Education Program and Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law. She teaches Negotiation Strategy, Lawyering Process, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a seminar in Legal Psychology. She was the 2007 recipient of the law school's Distinguished Teaching Award.
