Professor Joslin is 9th-Most-Cited Family Law Scholar
Professor Courtney Joslin is the nation’s ninth-most-cited family law scholar, according to University of Chicago Law School Professor Brian Leiter’s breakout ranking of influential scholars’ “scholarly impact” in that area of law.
In August, UC Davis Law’s faculty placed 18th on Leiter’s list of “top 50 faculties in scholarly impact,” up four spots since 2021, the last time rankings were compiled.
The 2024 rankings are based on the number of citations to tenured faculty scholarship in law journals from 2019-2023.
Professor Joslin is a leading scholar in the field of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and non-marital couples. She is a two-time Dukeminier Award recipient and the 2023 recipient of UC Davis Law’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
