Professor Börk to Receive ASU's Morrison Prize

Professor Karrigan Börk will receive the Morrison Prize from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law for his 2023 Harvard Environmental Law Review article “Water Right Exactions.”

The Morrison Prize awards $10,000 to “the most influential environmental sustainability-focused law journal article published in North America in the previous year,” according to an ASU news release announcing Börk’s award.

Börk will present the article and formally accept the prize at ASU’s annual SRP Sustainability Conference of American Legal Educators in May.

Professor Börk teaches and researches in the areas of environmental law, natural resources, and administrative law. He graduated with Distinction and Pro Bono Distinction from Stanford Law School in 2009, and completed his Ph.D. in Ecology at UC Davis in September 2011. He received the Shapiro Family Award in 2011 as the Outstanding Ph.D. Graduate in Ecology at UC Davis. He clerked for Tenth Circuit Chief Judge Mary Beck Briscoe, U.S. District Court Judge Julie Robinson, and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas Judge Janice Karlin.
