Jacobin, Dorf on Law Quote Professor Shanske on Conservative Tax Nonprofit's Curriculum Program
Professor Darien Shanske spoke to Jacobin magazine about the Tax Foundation’s TaxEDU, a high school and college curriculum program promoting pro-business messages, including one that big companies paying fewer taxes helps protect employee jobs.
A conservative tax policy nonprofit, the Tax Foundation also was influential in the Project 2025 presidential transition project, reported Jacobin, an American socialist magazine.
Shanske organized a group of more than 70 tax policy professionals to sign an open letter warning that TaxEDU materials were “not fit for use” by educators.
University of Florida Emeritus Professor of Law Neil H. Buchanan also wrote about TaxEDU, Shanske and the open letter in a post for the Dorf on Law blog.
Darien Shanske is a professor of law at UC Davis. His academic interests include taxation, particularly state and local taxation, local government law, public finance, and political theory, particularly jurisprudence.
