Bloomberg Tax Quotes Professor Shanske on Microsoft Repatriated Earnings Ruling

Bloomberg Tax quoted Professor Darien Shanske in an April 25 story about whether Microsoft’s $94 million win at California’s Office of Tax Appeals should be declared a precedent for how the state taxes companies with income repatriated from abroad.

Shanske has urged that the ruling not be precedential, because it would encourage income-shifting.

Darien Shanske is a professor of law at UC Davis. His academic interests include taxation, particularly state and local taxation, local government law, public finance, and political theory, particularly jurisprudence.
