To Our Dear Aoki Community:
As advocates of justice, we express concern about the harmful impact that this election will have on the most vulnerable members of our community. We fear for, among others, our unhoused neighbors, immigrants, Arabs and Muslims, women, LGBTQ+ persons, non-traditional families, the incarcerated--all who are marginalized by systems of power.
It might feel like decades of resistance and gains have been set back. However, those gains are in our hearts and minds. We must continue to struggle for justice.
The 2024 election results are not the end of this struggle. Our resistance is part of a greater movement aimed at remedying injustice. We must continue to resist because our community needs it.
In short, the election is a call to action, and we must answer with resolve.
