Dean Johnson Awarded Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court’s Lifetime Service Award

UC Davis School of Law Dean Kevin R. Johnson received the Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court’s Lifetime Service Award at a June 5 meeting.

The retired Sacramento Superior Court Judge Emily E. Vasquez and California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District Justice Shama H. Mesiwala ’98 gave remarks and spoke highly about his dedication to the legal profession and UC Davis Law community members’ great accomplishments.

Samuel McAdam, judge for the Yolo County Superior Court in California, interviewed Johnson at the event. 

Other attendees included UC Davis Law Professors Alan Brownstein and Carlton Larson, former UC Davis Law Dean Bruce Wolk, and retired California State Senator Lois Wolk. King Hall alums Brenda Quintanilla ’24, Fernando Torres ’24 and others also attended the celebratory event. 

Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
