Honored at June’s Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court Meeting

At the June meeting, the Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court honored me with a Lifetime Service Award. There were generous remarks from the retired Sacramento Superior Court Judge Emily E. Vasquez and California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District Justice Shama H. Mesiwala ’98. They spoke of the great work that faculty, students, staff, alums, and community members have done at UC Davis School of Law. 

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Samuel McAdam, judge for the Yolo County Superior Court in California. We had a wonderful group there, including UC Davis Law Professors Alan Brownstein and Carlton Larson, former UC Davis Law Dean Bruce Wolk, and retired California State Senator Lois Wolk.

We also had an incredible group of alums, including Brenda Quintanilla ’24, Fernando Torres ’24, and many others. And, to top it off, the Inn ordered German chocolate cake, my favorite, for dessert. 

I am indebted to the Inn for its community and support for our students and beyond.
